If you havent read these... GO GET THEM NOW!

"The plot is front and center here—the twists and turns are addictive, particularly when the romantic subplot ups the ante—yet the Capitol’s oppression and exploitation of the districts always simmers just below the surface, waiting to be more fully explored in future volumes. Collins has written a compulsively readable blend of science fiction, survival story, unlikely romance, and social commentary."
--Horn Book, STARRED REVIEW

"Populated by three dimensional characters, this is a superb tale of physical adventure, political suspense, and romance."
--Booklist, STARRED REVIEW

"Again, Collins’ crystalline, unadorned prose provides an open window to perfect pacing and electrifying world-building, but what’s even more remarkable is that aside from being tremendously action-packed sf thrillers, these books are also brimming with potent themes of morality, obedience, sacrifice, redemption, love, law, and, above all, survival. Honestly, this book only needs to be good enough to satisfy its legions of fans. Fortunately, it’s great. And if you were dying to find out what happens after the last book, get ready for pure torture awaiting the next."
--Booklist, STARRED REVIEW

"...doesn’t disappoint when it segues into the pulse-pounding action readers have come to expect. Characters from the previous volume reappear to good effect: Katniss’s stylist, Cinna, proves he’s about more than fashion; Haymitch becomes more dimensional. But the star remains Katniss, whose bravery, honesty and wry cynicism carry the narrative...Collins has also created an exquisitely tense romantic triangle for her heroine...by book’s end (and it’s a cliffhanger), readers will be picking sides—Peeta or Gale?”

4th of July!!

So I dont have any pics from the 4th of July because our camera is officially dead.
So I borrowed some from my friend Heidi. She is an amazing Photographer and is for hire. You can look her up H.A.M. Photography. Its one of my "likes" on Facebook.
These are just her causual shots. Her true shots are amazing.
She's the one that did our family pics.
We went to the Odenwalder's annual "Crab/Shrimp boil". Such a cute couple and so creative. Below is the cook of the evening...Shawn. His lovely wife and one of my good friends is expecting their 2nd child in just weeks. How she had the energy to host this I'll never know.

Heidi asked Sydney if she wanted to have a Photo shoot and of course she jumped at the chance. She just had tubes put in her ears and adenoids taken out the day before... does she look it? more about her surgery soon.

I'm guessing there were more then 20 people there that night. We all went out to the coldasac and watched the guys shoot off the fireworks the bought. Lance the neighbor and his brother had some BIG ones!!!! Amys house is also the perfect spot to watch the Town of Davie shoot their fireworks show. Lincoln decided he's rather stay inside then be exposed to such load noises. He was happy eating cookies and planing trains. Isaac and Sydney had a great time too.
All in All thanks to the Odenwalders for a GREAT 4th.
And another shout out to Heidi for her pics.

My free curb side desk is almost done.

My WONDERFUL neighbor Jen helped me load it into the back of my van. It has sat in the corner waiting to be redone. A couple days later I stopped and picked up what I think was a kitchen cabinet. I pulled off some wood that was nailed to the bottom and its going to hang over my desk to help with my craft storage.
He's my personal photographer! And no I didnt ask him to document me (in all my glory) in fact I asked him not to. But then as I was getting ready to delete the photos he told me "but I took them b/c I was so proud of you!" And you know I'm proud of me too!!!

This picture doesnt even come close to showing the amount of paint and dirt I had all over my legs. Anyways... the desk is grey except for the trim around the doors
and the front of the drawers.

So the outside of the drawers are grey against the purple of the desk and the front of the drawers. With the lovely clearanced knobs I found at Home Depot!!

This is the inset of my floating cabinet. I modpodged Amy Butler paper on the backing and had to trim it with ribbon to cover the fact that my edges had HUGE gaps.
The picture really doesnt do it justice but our good camera is on the outs since going to the beach and getting sand in it. It was so HOT today! I sweated through 2 outfits before giving up and putting on shorts and a wifebeater. Should've done that in the first place. Tow layers of clothing + 96 degree heat + sanding down a desk = 1 stinky, sticky laura! Isaac was a genious and helped prime in his underwear! He snapped a pic of me in one of my sweatiest moments. my hair was stuck to my head. Anyways... I'll finish the trim on the front tomorrow and the doors will go up on the cabinet oh and I have to finish the chair.
Stay tuned for the final reveal!
